Golden State Cellular (GSC) was a cell provider serving several counties west of Yosemite National Park until being purchased by Verizon in 2015. In addition to their standard 2-year phone contracts, GSC also offered prepaid service that allowed users to buy contract-free packaged minutes for a flat rate. Prepaid users are a growing segment of the market and needed to be addressed with a unique strategy. We created a brochure, separate from their standard product and services guide, that was designed just for prepaid customers along with branding and an ad campaign that expressed the unique rewards of a prepaid plan. All Prepaid pieces used illustrations instead of photography as part of the design concept, as a way to clearly distinguish Prepaid from Golden State’s other traditional products and services.
